Bengaluru Run Flag Off

As the year comes to an end and the weather begins to hit that perfect temperature, the Mera Terah Run will begin its 3rd epic journey on the 15th of December at 5:30 am.

The first half marathon will be flagged off from Konark Hotel, Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru, by Ms. Suman Nagarkar, a Kannada movie actor, a passionate runner and a fitness enthusiast and Mr. Kothandapani KC, an accomplished marathoner and one of the best known running coaches in Bengaluru.

Suman Nagarkar

Suman Nagarkar, popularly known as “Beladingala Baale” is an actor in Kannada Films and TV. She gained popularity with movies like “Hoomale”, “Nishkarsha”, “Nammoora Mandara Hoove” and “Beladingala Baale”. She won Lux Udaya Best Actress award for her role in “Hoomale”. Apart from being a household name as a well-known actor Suman is a passionate runner; hiker and a fitness enthusiast. She has run over 25 half marathons and over 10 marathons; hiked in several places in US and she also did a 5 day 50 mile hike to Macchu Picchu in Peru. Suman is also an accomplished singer and has performed on All India Radio.

Apart from all this, Suman is a great cook and conducts cooking demonstrations for home cooked Indian food to Americans and has incorporated Millet in her cooking. Over the past few years many Americans have had the luxury of home cooked Indian food and a 5 course meal as part of her cooking demonstrations.

Pani Sir

Having served the nation with the Indian Air Force for 21 years, ‘Coach Pani’- as he is fondly called- took up serious running in 1977 during his military training. He started as a middle distance runner representing various Commands under Indian Air Force at the Air Force Athletics Championship. He also took part in the Cross Country Events and represented Air Force at the Inter-Services Cross Country Championship. Slowly, he transitioned into long distance running to full marathon and before he retired from the Air Force in 1998, amongst various other records, he had to his credit a sub 3-hour finish.

Coach Pani is currently the chief coach and prime mover of the PaceMakers. His mentees have made rapid strides in the world of Indian amateur running.
